I'm not clear which SP you are talking about.
Please share your current landscape and required Fiori apps. Then go to App reference library and find prerequisites SP level.
You do not update SP in the production system. Before you apply SP in the production system, you should test in DEV and QA. So there is no big risk in the production system.
